Outdoor ritual on a red-carpeted platform beside stone steps at a temple tank. A man seated on a gold-and-red throne with a golden trident-topped staff wears a rust-red dhoti and shawl, gold necklace, and rudraksha-style beads, with a red forehead marking; he is at the left edge. Before a golden tray of leafy offerings and brass plates, a row of white-clad devotees in cream and gold-bordered saris and dhotis, with rudraksha malas, stand reading from printed sheets; one woman in front holds an offering. A woman in orange holds a microphone at right. Their chanting appears to be part of a group recitation. Other devotees in orange and white stand nearby, and dark-haired heads are visible in the foreground. The scene is a Janmashtami devotional gathering.2017-08-14August 14 20172017-08-14Indoor satsang or initiation gathering in a tiled hall, with devotees seated on the floor in white dhotis and mundus with gold borders and red shawls, many wearing rudraksha malas. A woman in orange robes holds a lit oil lamp beside him while seated devotees in white and yellow sarees and dhotis sit on a red carpet before brass plates of fruit, sweets, banana leaves and a silver pot.
