Outdoor street photo of a large crowd of devotees gathered along a wet, puddled road lined with parked motorcycles, an auto-rickshaw and small roadside shops. Many men wear white shirts and dhotis or kurtas; some have hands folded in namaskar and others stand with arms crossed. Women in saris and a young girl in an orange dress and flower hair ornament stand among them, and a boy in a blue striped shirt watches in the foreground. Scattered petals or offerings lie on the ground. A blue sign on a wall is partly visible.

A crowded street scene in an Indian town, with a large group of men waiting in a queue or gathering on a dirt road. Most wear white shirts and white dhotis or lungis, while some wear checked or striped shirts and checked lungis. A man in front on the left holds a small plastic bag and has a red tilak mark on his forehead. A young boy in white stands in the lower foreground. Behind them, a few women in saffron and teal saris, parked vehicles, a red bus, a tan tarpaulin, and street shops and banners line the road. No one visible is identifiable as a person.

A street scene in Chennai during an outdoor procession, with a crowd of devotees gathered at the roadside looking upward toward something out of frame. In the foreground a man in white dhoti with an orange shawl stands at left, and a man in a checked shirt and dark trousers stands center. Beside them stand a boy in a striped polo shirt, an older woman in a white and gold-bordered sari, and other men in white shirts and dhotis. A carved, painted temple structure with blue and multicoloured trim stands at right, and a tall tree shades the street. Trees and a multi-storey building fill the background.

A long queue of men stands along a street beside a tall grey concrete wall and corrugated red metal sheeting. Most are in ordinary shirts and dhotis or lungis; one older man with white hair and a moustache wears a checked shirt and carries a folded cloth bag, and several others hold yellow cloth bags with orange printing. Overhead wires and a street lamp are visible at right, with a small shrine structure at the far right edge.

A street scene in a busy Indian town during a procession of religious leaders and officials. In the centre, a young person in an orange saffron robe, orange turban and a long rudraksha mala stands with hands folded, with long dark hair visible; this person is a person candidate by appearance cues (swept-back hair, orange turban, saffron robe and rudraksha mala). Beside them, an older man with a white beard wears a peach-coloured robe and holds a rosette badge. To the left, men in white dhotis and shirts and a bearded man in white stand among others. On the right, a woman in a teal sari stands near a man in a khaki shirt. Shop signs and multi-storey buildings line the street behind the crowd, with a sky overhead.

A street scene outdoors on a sunny day with a scaffolding frame and shopfronts behind. In the centre, two saffron-robed monastics stand facing each other: the figure on the left has a rudraksha mala and a saffron cloth bag, and the taller figure in the middle wears a long saffron shawl over a saffron robe and a garland of yellow flowers around the neck. A uniformed police officer in khaki stands at the left edge, and several men in white shirts and dhotis, one in a striped polo, stand among the crowd. A woman in white, two of the group holding small items, and a man in a khaki cap with a red forehead mark complete the group, which is gathered on a paved road.

Outdoor street scene during a ratha procession on a paved roadside with sandy shoulder. A crowd of men stands in groups, many in brown shirts and dark blue or purple shirts with trousers, some in white shirts and lungis. A man in white shirt and white dhoti stands near the centre-right. At right, part of a decorated ratha or palanquin with gold-coloured carved wood is visible. Behind, a gate and white walls sit beneath a large tree, with banana-leaf and striped multicoloured canopy decorations over the procession area.
