The figure, seen from behind, has dark hair and a white garland or scarf draped at the neck. A garland of yellow and magenta flowers with white jasmine strands hangs around the trunk. A low white-washed stone platform surrounds the tree base, and a dark cable runs along the ground at right. The figure, with long dark hair and a dark beaded rudraksha mala at the chest, leans forward with palms pressed together against the trunk in a reverent gesture. A woman in a green sari with a gold-toned border stands at right near a wooden platform and rope barrier, and another person is partly visible at the far right edge. Strings of lights and tall metal poles are visible in the background. A purple logo appears at top left and copyright text at lower right.2008-12-30Night photograph of a man in an orange silk robe with gold borders standing barefoot beside a large banyan-type tree with thick aerial roots. He reaches up with one arm to hang a white and red flower garland on a root, and red and yellow powder marks dot the trunk. Scattered petals and flower bits lie on the ground. A second garland hangs lower on the trunk, and a partly visible person in white stands at the left edge. The wording of the page suggests a Jayanti-day ritual, but the image itself shows only a tree-garlanding act.2007-01-01Photograph taken at night of a figure seen from behind, standing barefoot on a low white stone platform at the base of a large banyan tree with many aerial roots. The person has long dark hair and wears a white garland around the neck, an orange upper garment and an orange lower wrap. Strands of yellow, magenta and white flower garlands hang from the tree trunk. Loose red petals and leaves lie on the ground. The figure is facing the trunk, appearing to offer worship at the sacred tree. Appearance-based cues are limited because only the back is visible.2009-11-19July 20 20102010-07-20A figure in an orange saffron garment with gold-bordered edges and a white-and-red flower garland draped over one shoulder stands barefoot at night, pressing one hand against the trunk of a large banyan tree with aerial roots. Lamplight is faint and the ground is sandy with scattered flower petals near the trunk.2007-01-01Night photograph at an outdoor ashram site. A figure in a flowing saffron-orange robe with long dark hair and a rudraksha mala stands on a white-edged platform, leaning forward with forehead pressed against the massive buttressed trunk of a banyan tree, hands pressed together in reverence. White kolam line designs and scattered petals are on the ground, with a faint yellow flower garland at the lower left. Behind, a man in white with a yellow shawl and a woman in a green sari stand at the edge of the frame beside a rope fence and poles. The figure's long hair, saffron robe and mala match the page's a person reference, but the appearance cues are not conclusive, so the identification is marked uncertain.2008-12-30
