October 15 20082008-10-15A procession descends a staircase inside a green-walled building with a fire extinguisher on the wall. In the centre, a woman in an orange sari with an orange head covering and a rudraksha mala holds her hands in anjali and smiles. Beside her, a man in a white shirt and white dhoti carries a brass tray with a yellow-wrapped offering and flowers. A bald man in orange robes with a white-beaded necklace follows, along with other devotees in white shirts and dhotis and saffron-robed attendants. A young man on the left wears a yellow shawl over white. Ornate green grilles and a dark doorway form the background.2008-10-15A photograph of a figure in a saffron-orange robe and an orange turban with hands pressed together in namaste, walking along a green-painted veranda past a red fire extinguisher on the wall. A rudraksha mala hangs around his neck, and his long hair falls onto his shoulders. Beside him, a man in white shirt and white dhoti walks with folded hands, another in white holds a tray of pink flower petals, and a man in white at the right edge carries a brass tray with a yellow and white floral arrangement. A cameraman in an orange shirt raises a video camera overhead, and several other men in white and orange stand in the background of the doorway.2008-10-15 +1 copiesAugust 02 20082008-08-02A group of men walks barefoot through a covered courtyard entrance beside a pink-and-gold ornate iron gate. At the centre, a man in a saffron-orange robe with long dark hair and a gold-beaded necklace walks ahead; a candidate for the page subject, appearance-based and uncertain. Beside him, a man in orange carries a red-and-gold cloth bundle. Around them, men in white dhotis and shirts, one in a light blue shirt, and an older man in a saffron shawl follow closely. Green walls, a tiled floor and a railing frame the scene.2008-10-15Photograph taken at night in a temple entrance beside a tall metal-sheathed door. A central figure in an orange turban and orange-saffron robes with gold border stands with palms pressed together in anjali, wearing a long yellow and red marigold garland and a gold pendant. Around him, men in white dhotis and shirts, some with orange shawls and rudraksha malas, raise hands in greeting or prayer. A bearded man in orange shawl presses palms together at left. A man in a checked shirt stands behind. Dark stone floor with scattered petals at the threshold.2006-09-24A doorway into a bright interior with polished wooden doors on either side. In the centre, a man in a saffron-orange robe with a long white and multicolour flower garland walks forward, a devotee's hand extended toward him. Behind him, another monk in orange stands near a seated attendant. To the right, a man in white shirt and dhoti with a dark bead mala around his neck walks past, and a man in white dhoti and shawl holds a tray of offerings. Several people in white ritual dress stand in the background hallway.2010-01-21July 28 20082008-07-28A photograph of people walking barefoot through a wooden doorway into a light-coloured building with a polished stone floor and a view of trees outside. The central figure wears an orange robe, an orange shawl and a long yellow-and-red marigold garland, with a red-and-yellow tilak on his forehead and long dark hair. Beside him on the left, a man in white dhoti and shirt walks with hands folded. Behind, another person in an orange shawl and white clothes walks, and a man in white dhoti and shirt with a wristwatch stands on the right. Garlands in yellow and red line the doorframe. The central figure has long swept-back hair and saffron robes with a garland, so an appearance-based candidate for a person is present but the cues are not fully distinctive enough to confirm.2010-02-17November 25 20062006-11-25July 28 20082008-07-28December 24 20072007-12-24
