A shaven-headed priest in an orange-red dhoti and shawl stands at left, holding a small brass vessel and a lamp-like implement above a gold-coloured abhishekam lingam with a kalasha. A seated devotee with a long braid, wearing an orange cloth and an orange rudraksha-style necklace, faces the altar from the lower right. Behind the lingam stand gilded metal deity murtis with crowns, one holding a staff; a bearded figure in a black hat stands at the right edge and another murti in red appears at left. Brass oil lamps and small offering dishes sit on the stone platform.2015-11-16A temple shrine decorated with multicoloured flower garlands in purple, red, yellow and green. Two priests in saffron-orange dhoti and shawl stand before the central deity murti and a tall silver-and-gold shivalinga, one pouring liquid from a vessel. A devotee in orange robe stands at left, and a small deity statue dressed in a garland stands at right. Brass pots, fruit and flower offerings sit on the floor, typical of abhishekam worship.2013-11-05A temple shrine photographed from the side, showing a priest in a deep red-maroon dhoti and matching shawl with a gold border, standing with his back to the camera before a golden deity murti of a seated goddess with a tall crown and an elaborate necklace. The murti and the flanking figures are draped in garlands of marigold and red, yellow, white and purple flowers. A black stone shivalinga sits on a dark black peetha in the centre of the shrine. To the left stands a tall brass oil lamp with a lit flame, and small brass vessels sit on the floor. A small bronze figure stands near the base, and a brass kalasha-like vessel rests beside it. Large glass panels open onto dry trees outside.2015-01-13A photograph of a temple ritual in an open pavilion. A man in a sleeveless saffron-orange garment with a white flower garland stands at left, holding up a tall brass aarti lamp with a lit flame toward a deity pair. Behind the lamp, a seated golden deity murti in a red garment and crown, with a garland of yellow, orange and purple flowers, is framed by a large floral arch. Brass oil lamps and a kalasha-like gold object sit on the altar in front. A second saffron-clad seated figure with a garland is at lower left, and a man in white stands at the far left edge. The scene reads as aarti during puja, with the people visible partly and the figures identifiable only by clothing and role.2009-12-30Photo of a temple shrine decorated with garlands in yellow, pink, purple and green. Two standing figures in the central shrine are dressed in vivid colours and gold jewellery, flanked by a golden canopy and tiered floral arrangements. In front, a man in an orange robe stands beside a woman in a brown-orange sari, who offers a lit lamp or ritual item at the altar. Brass vessels, a small oil lamp and flower offerings sit on the stone platform, with carved stone pillars framing the scene. Two figures appear in the sanctum and one more devotee at left, so the scene shows a few people at an abhishekam or puja.2013-11-05January 01 20092009-01-01December 31 20082008-12-31A photograph inside a stone shrine showing a deity murti with a trident and garlanded consort figure, backed by a green curtain and a gold arch. Brass oil lamps stand on the stone ledge, and a gold necklace and marigold garlands adorn the idols. On the right, a shaved-headed priest in an orange-and-yellow dhoti and a marigold garland performs puja with folded hands, facing the shrine. The setting is an open stone pavilion with glass panels and trees beyond.2015-09-08December 27 20082008-12-27 +1 copiesJanuary 03 20152015-01-03
