In the foreground, a bare-backed priest in orange dhoti and orange shawl, with an orange head cloth, holds a silver ritual vessel with a pink-and-white flower garland draped over it, offering it toward a seated figure. The seated figure wears a rust-red garment, a pink flower garland, and a tilak on the forehead, sitting on a tiger-skin-covered seat in front of an elaborate gold throne back. Two painted and gilded dvarapala guardian statues with raised hands flank the scene, and a brass lamp and bells hang at right. Gold ornaments and offering trays sit on the platform.2017-09-12Photo 11709807September 08 20172017-09-08 +1 copiesA photograph inside a temple-style shrine hall. A seated figure on an ornate gold throne with leopard-print and tiger-skin cushions wears a maroon-brown garment, a pink flower garland, and a gold necklace, with one hand raised in a blessing gesture and a staff standing beside him. In front, a standing man in saffron-orange cloth and a saffron head wrap, with long dreadlocked hair and bare upper body, holds a lit lamp toward the throne during a puja. Golden kalasha-style pillars, bells and hanging chains frame the scene, with two painted deity statues in green and gold flanking the shrine. Visible text reads: a person presence per appearance cues includes the flower garland and ceremonial seated posture; the throne and offering are part of the scene.2017-09-02Photo 11710709
