A shaved-headed man in a red shawl and rudraksha mala kneels on a patch of earth between brick courses, placing red flowers or offerings into a brick-lined pit, with a silver or brass plate near him. Around him, several men in white dhotis and white shirts stand or bend in attendance; one older man at left holds a plate of flowers and marigold petals, and a young boy in a striped shirt stands among them. Orange and yellow flower petals lie on the ground and a white stone slab is at right. The kneeling figure is described by appearance as a person in a red shawl with a rudraksha mala, performing the ritual, while the others are devotees. A plain white wall forms the background.2001-01-11Photo 11741627August 17 20072007-08-17 +2 copiesOutdoor site work on reddish-brown excavated earth. A bare-chested man in front wears an orange-saffron shawl draped over his shoulders and holds a small offering vessel. A small flame burns on the ground in front of them beside a red object, with dry leaves scattered on the soil. A child in a white top and dark blue skirt stands at the right edge watching. Several men have their eyes closed or heads bowed in devotion. The scene suggests a simple outdoor puja or fire offering.2007-09-17Outdoor photo of a large group of men and women in white ritual clothing working on a dusty, excavated site with rough-hewn grey stones piled in the foreground. Many men wear white dhotis and white shirts, some with white towels over their shoulders, while several women in white saris and a few in orange or saffron saris stand in a line along the ridge in the background. Some men in the middle distance carry or pass small objects and tools, and a few wear grey trousers or light shirts. Bare saplings, a tree on the left and a row of distant structures with greenery frame the scene.2008-06-20Outdoor ritual on bare reddish earth in front of a dense green tree line.
