The central figure in an orange robe and beaded rudraksha mala holds the lamp's tray while a monk in an orange turban and shawl stands beside him. Several men in white shirts and dhotis stand at the right, and the backdrop shows framed portraits of several men above a deity murti in a gilded arch. Fresh flower arrangements decorate the stage edge.2008-12-30A photograph of an outdoor stage event under a white tent with a red carpet and flower garlands. A tall brass lamp with a ringed, flower-decorated top is lit at centre. Several men in orange robes stand around it: one wears a long orange turban and orange wrap, another is bald in orange, and a third wears an orange shawl with a rudraksha mala. Beside them, men in white kurtas and dhotis stand, one in a dark green-gold waistcoat and one in a black jacket. Behind the stage are framed portrait photographs and a yellow banner with Kannada text, plus a gold-framed chair. Pink and yellow flowers decorate the foreground. Five to six people are visible.2008-12-30December 30 20082008-12-30A photograph of a stage event under a white tent. In the centre, a saffron-robed figure with long dark hair and an orange turban stands at a large brass lamp draped with yellow and white flower garlands. Beside the lamp, another orange-robed man in a saffron shawl holds a ritual object. To the right, two men in white dhotis and kurta-style clothes, one in a green waistcoat, stand with folded hands. A younger orange-clad attendant with a flower garland stands at the left edge. Behind them hangs a banner with printed portraits of several men and a Kannada-language heading, and a decorative deity-themed backdrop. Flower arrangements in pink, yellow and orange line the red-carpeted dais. Several people are visible, roughly six to twenty.2008-12-30A photograph of an outdoor stage event under a white tent, with a large brass oil lamp (deepa) decorated with yellow and white garlands at centre. Several saffron-clad sannyasis stand around it: a figure on the left wearing an orange turban and saffron robe with a shawl, a bald man in orange robes reaching toward the lamp, and another in orange with a shawl and marigold garland. A man on the left wears an orange robe with a marigold garland. To the right, two men in white dhoti-style clothing stand beside a man in a green vest over white kurta. Flower arrangements of pink, orange and white blooms line the red-carpeted stage edge, and a yellow draped backdrop is visible at right. A partially visible portrait panel sits at upper left. The scene suggests a lamp-lighting ceremony such as an aarti at the start of a programme.2008-12-30January 01 20062006-01-01
