A tall tapering copper flagstaff stands in an outdoor temple courtyard, wrapped with bands and garlanded near its base with yellow and red flowers. Two men pull the rope that raises a saffron-orange cloth on the pole. The man in front wears an orange robe and reaches overhead with both arms. Behind him, a man in white dhoti and shawl with red border holds the rope. A foreground figure in white cloth looks up at the flagstaff. Palm fronds and a bright sky fill the background.2010-09-02September 02 20102010-09-02 +1 copiesMarch 02 20112011-03-02A tall copper flagstaff with ringed bands rises from an ornate stone base carved with a seated figure in a niche and marigold garlands in yellow and purple draped down its sides. Two men stand at the base pulling the hoisting rope: one in an orange robe with a rudraksha mala, the other bald in white ritual dhoti with a maroon border, holding a silver plate. A third bald man in orange robes is seen in the foreground, with a brass tray of offerings nearby. The scene appears to be a flag-hoisting ritual outdoors under an overcast sky with palm trees behind.2010-09-13A tall copper flagstaff rises from an ornately carved stone base wrapped in yellow and orange marigold garlands, topped by a red and white flag fluttering against an overcast sky. Two men in orange saffron clothing stand at right, one raising both arms to pull on an orange rope tied to the top of the pole, while a second man in orange at the lower right holds the rope. Palm trees and a corrugated roof edge frame the left and right edges. Visible people are two, both in saffron, with the foremost pulling the rope overhead; no clear face identification is made. The scene suggests a flag-raising or pole-hoisting moment at an ashram courtyard.2010-11-06July 26 20102010-07-26
