A close view of a gilded Shiva lingam in a temple shrine, draped with long garlands of marigold-like flowers in red, yellow, white, purple and green, plus strands of brown rudraksha beads. The golden lingam has a silver-gold peetha base with ornate scrollwork and a golden cylindrical top with five raised serpent-like heads above. Gold jewellery and a diamond-studded band encircle the shaft. No people are visible; only the deity murti and offerings are shown, with a corner of gilded decoration in the background.2013-11-02November 16 20092009-11-16November 23 20182018-11-23June 14 20142014-06-14September 07 20142014-09-07A decorated deity murti of a seated figure, shown as a statue, not a living person. It wears a green and red patterned silk turban with a green leafy crown, a multi-layered diamond-studded gold collar and a gold waist belt over orange-and-red clothing. Rudraksha mala beads and long silver-threaded ornaments hang across the chest. Yellow marigold garlands and red rose garlands drape the shoulders and sides. Behind the head rises a large gold hooded cobra canopy with green gem-set fangs, set against carved gold and temple pillars. A banyan-style setting with ceremonial decoration suggests a temple worship display.2011-07-26October 03 20182018-10-03September 15 20182018-09-15November 05 20132013-11-05November 04 20142014-11-04November 26 20142014-11-26Close-up photograph of a gold-plated ceremonial shivalinga or temple sacred object decorated for worship.
