Night photograph of a large outdoor crowd at an evening event, lit by bright floodlights on tall stands. Many people wear white dhotis, white shirts and saris, with some in yellow shawls and saffron-coloured garments. Devotees sit on red and white plastic chairs in the foreground while others stand densely packed. In the background a decorated palanquin or ratha-like float stands under lights, with banners and a tall illuminated pillar beyond. The people are not individually identifiable, so the a person field is unsure.2010-12-29Night-time outdoor gathering at a temple-style open ground in Tiruvannamalai, with a large crowd of devotees seated on rows of green plastic chairs and mats facing a stage area. Most people wear white ritual clothes, white dhotis and white saris, with some in coloured sarees and salwar. Many men wear lanyards or identification cords. Plastic chairs in red and white are scattered among the crowd, and a few people stand near a long table with papers and boxes. A banner hangs on the right side and a small illuminated arch glows in the distance. No individual can be clearly identified as a person in this view, so no candidate is marked. The crowd appears to number in the thousands.2010-12-29December 29 20102010-12-29April 17 20112011-04-17December 29 20102010-12-29December 29 20102010-12-29July 27 20082008-07-27August 05 20092009-08-05Night-time outdoor gathering on bare ground with a very large crowd of devotees, mostly in white traditional clothes, with some in saffron and orange saris and a few in khaki or beige. Red plastic chairs are scattered among them, and a red carpet runs across the foreground. Bright floodlights on tall poles light the scene. In the background a decorated stage or float with an ornate structure and a lit archway hang with garlands and lights. A few individuals stand out, including a man in white on the right holding a stick and a man in a beige kurta near the centre. Many people are standing and facing the stage, possibly awaiting darshan.2010-12-29
