Many men have white horizontal tilak lines on their foreheads and bodies and wear rudraksha malas; they hold brass horn-shaped vessels and pour ritual water into silver and steel bowls arranged on trays before them. Women in red and orange sarees sit at the left edge. Brass pots and offering plates with flowers and petals fill the foreground. Orange panels with gold pillars and lattice windows line the back wall.2013-10-07September 16 20132013-09-16Photo 11738880 +1 copiesPhotograph of a seated puja inside a hall with pale pink walls, red curtains and wall-mounted air conditioners. A row of shaved-headed priests in saffron-orange dhotis and shawls, with rudraksha malas and white tilaka on their foreheads, sit cross-legged on white mats, each holding a long golden spouted vessel over steel bowls and pots of offerings. Silver vessels and small brass cups are arranged on low silver-topped platforms along the floor. Several more people in white shirts and dhotis stand or sit behind the row near the wall. The priests appear to be performing an abhishekam or ritual pouring.2013-09-30Photo 11736843 +1 copiesPhoto 11736107
