A man with long dark hair, bare-shouldered in a maroon-red cloth, wears red and yellow flower garlands and gold chains while hauling the pole's rope upward with both arms. A white-shirted onlooker stands at right, and a few people are partially visible at the lower left near the base, under a metal roof edge and palm trees. He wears a rust-red unstitched cloth draped over his shoulder and wrapped around his waist with broad gold borders, and a brown beaded rudraksha-style necklace around his neck. Palm trees and greenery form the background. At the lower right, another person's hand holds the rope near a bundle of dried straw fixed to an orange-and-white flag or banner. Carved stone architecture is visible at the left edge.2013-09-11A photograph of a tall copper ceremonial flagstaff with a bulbous base, garlanded with white jasmine and red flower strings, rising against a bright sky beside palm trees. A man in a rust-red robe with a gold necklace and flower garland stands at its base, one hand on the staff and gazing upward as he pulls a rope attached to a white banner at the top. A red and gold umbrella and a partly visible figure stand at the right edge, with a flag held aloft in the upper right. The scene suggests a flag-hoisting ritual at an outdoor ashram courtyard.2016-04-10April 10 20162016-04-10
