Many devotees sit on mats in rows facing a raised stage with a decorated shrine and a golden deity murti under an ornate canopy. Several women in saffron and orange saris and men in orange and maroon clothing sit cross-legged; some have long dreadlocked hair. A priest in a maroon garment sits near a brass puja setup with oil lamps, flower garlands and a steel plate. A figure in a dark robe sits on a gold throne with a red cushion at the right edge, with a gold-tasselled umbrella overhead. Brass oil lamps and marigold garlands are placed in front of the attendees. Green and foliage-filled plants and red-and-white striped pillars frame the scene.2016-08-12A tented outdoor ceremony at Dhyanapeetam with a large audience seated in white plastic chairs facing a raised dais. A figure in ornate red and gold clothing sits on a red and gold throne decorated with yellow and orange flower garlands, while white-clad attendants wearing white turbans and white dhotis stand around it, some tending brass vessels and lamps. Behind the dais, a banner shows a line of portraits above the word Dhyanapeetam and a yellow umbrella stands above the throne. Many seated devotees wear white, with women in saris in green, red, and yellow. Oil lamps and brass items are arranged on a table draped in orange cloth. The scene suggests a peetha ceremony with audience and attendants present.2004-01-01July 04 20132013-07-04A photograph of a large open-air ceremony under a white tent. In the centre, a richly decorated throne with a golden arch is draped in orange and yellow marigold garlands, with a seated figure in the centre, a deity murti. Several priests in white dhotis, some bare-chested, perform rites at a low platform with brass lamps and kalasha-style vessels, while a man in a purple sash stands nearby. Foreground devotees sit facing the altar, many wearing white clothes with red-orange shawls draped over their shoulders. Golden poles with orange and yellow banners frame the scene.2015-07-17September 29 20162016-09-29September 11 20142014-09-11
