A bare-shouldered figure in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl walks away from the camera, toward a group of men in white dhotis and white shirts standing near plastic chairs. One man in white holds a black bag. Behind them are a mound of soil, stacks of dried thatch or palm matting, and tall bamboo scaffolding with workers. Trees and a small roofed structure stand in the background under an overcast sky. A cameraman with a video camera is at the left edge.2008-04-05Outdoors on a dirt road before a forested hill, a figure in saffron-orange robes with bare shoulders and a white flower garland stands beside a silver Ford vehicle with a red tail light. A white-clad man in a long white shirt and dhoti reaches toward the garlanded figure. Around them a group of men in white dhotis and bare-chested devotees and women in cream saris stand with palms pressed together in namaskar, forming a welcoming reception line. Green shrubs, a palm tree and pink flowering bushes frame the scene under a pale sky.2011-10-07April 05 20082008-04-05December 19 20062006-12-19A photograph of a rural dirt-track scene below a forested hill. A figure with long, swept-back dark hair and bare upper body wears an orange-saffron dhoti and sandals, stepping out of a silver Ford Endeavour SUV whose rear door is open. Several men in white shirts and white dhotis stand nearby, one holding a camera rig at left, and a stack of cut wooden poles lies beside a hut. The SUV bears a Karnataka plate reading KA 04 MN 4444.2008-04-05July 29 20082008-07-29July 29 20082008-07-29September 25 20062006-09-25A silver Ford SUV with a Karnataka registration plate (KA04 MN4444) stops on a dirt road lined with green shrubs and trees, its driver-side door open. On the right, a line of women in white saris with yellow borders stand with palms pressed together in anjali greeting. In front of them, a woman in an orange saffron sari carries a brass plate of flowers, and two men in white dhoti and shirt stand behind her. A multicoloured fringed ceremonial umbrella is held over the group, and an orange saffron flag hangs on a pole at the left edge. The scene suggests a welcome of an arriving vehicle with ritual greeting.2008-07-27
