The figure has a painted papier-mache style face with red, orange and yellow tones, blue eyes, a protruding tongue and a grotesque expression, topped by a black hood. Its body is draped in long black fabric strips streaked with green paint, with wooden stick arms ending in black fabric hands. It stands on a wooden frame of bamboo-like poles tied with rope. Background shows dry ground, a low green shrub and a white painted wall with red stripes. No people are visible.2013-03-02Night outdoor scene on bare dry ground. In the centre stands a life-size effigy on a wooden frame, dressed in a black cloth robe with ragged black sleeves and black gloves, with a pink-red painted mask face and a pink-red beaded garland around its neck. A white cloth or pole rises vertically behind it and a diagonal white strip runs across the upper left. On the left edge a man in white dhoti with a red waist cloth stands with hands folded in front of his face in a namaskar gesture. A small light stands in the background and a yellow-flowered tree is at the upper right.2013-03-02March 02 20132013-03-02Night photograph of a life-size effigy figure standing against a dark background. It has a hand-painted papier-mache style face in red, pink, yellow and green with large blue eyes, a wide mouth and a red tongue, framed by a black hood. Its body is draped in black fabric strips, with wooden stick arms, and it wears layered necklaces of red cylindrical pieces strung on wire. No physical people are visible; the figure is a constructed effigy, not a person, so no one is identifiable as a person.2013-03-02A photograph at night of a handmade effigy figure with a painted papier-mache style face in pink, orange and yellow tones, with blue eyes, a wide grimacing mouth showing teeth, and a tongue protruding. It wears a long black cloth hood and a black garment made of vertical strips with green paint splashes across the front. No physical people are visible; the figure is a doll or puppet-like prop against a black background.2013-03-02March 02 20132013-03-02Photo 11729961 +1 copiesOctober 25 20172017-10-25
