Two figures on the altar wear crowns, jewelled necklaces and pink and magenta cloth, one holds a trident and the central figure raises a hand in blessing. Brass kalasha and oil lamp stand to the right, a metallic bowl is held by a devotee at the bottom left, and the backdrop is a red curtain with a gilded arch. The scene looks like abhishekam or puja. The two devotees on the left are priests performing the rite, and the murtis are statues, not people.2020-12-25A man with long dreadlocks and a bare chest, wearing a white dhoti with gold borders, pours liquid from a golden kalasha onto a tall black shivalingam during abhishekam. Behind him stand two figures in rust-red dhotis and shawls with rudraksha malas. Centre is a large decorated deity murti of Shiva and Parvati seated on a throne with a trident, adorned with garlands of marigold and white flowers, a green cloth, and an arched gold backdrop with red curtains. A brass oil lamp stands at right.2019-03-04Inside a temple shrine with red draped curtains, a priest in an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, wearing a white face mask and white sacred markings on his arm, stands at left touching a large seated murti of a figure wearing a black-and-gold crown and rudraksha-style beaded garland. Behind, golden deity figures stand under an ornate gold arch decorated with silver-toned embellishments; the central pair wear yellow and purple silk and elaborate jewelry. At right, a standing bearded sage statue in maroon dhoti and layered beaded necklaces raises a hand in blessing. Fresh marigold and white flower garlands drape the figures, and brass lamps and a kalasha-like vessel sit on the altar. Statues and no living a person depicted; the priest is the only living person visible.2020-12-15Photo 11731989 +1 copies
