He wears orange ochre robes and a gold bead necklace, and looks down with a faint smile. Behind him, another orange-robed man with a gold bead necklace and red bindi stands near a silver pot, and a third orange-clad figure with long hair stands at right beside a gold lamp stand and a red-gold draped cloth. Garlands of yellow and purple flowers hang at the upper right. The scene is an abhishekam of a Shiva linga.2010-02-12February 19 20152015-02-19 +1 copiesA figure in a flowing orange robe with long, swept-back dark hair and a gold bead mala pours water from a brass pot over a black Shiva lingam in a temple shrine. Long gold beaded necklaces and a red-tipped forehead mark are visible. Beside him a second person in orange with a gold mala stands and watches, and a partially visible person in orange appears at the left edge. Behind the lingam, a gilded deity murti is decked with yellow and orange flower garlands and red silk draping. A small white marble seated figure with folded hands sits in the foreground near the base. Water runs across the stone floor. Long swept-back hair, orange robes and mala cues match the probable Swamiji profile, and the pot-pouring figure appears to be the central celebrant.2010-02-12A photograph of a linga abhishekam in a temple. A man with long, swept-back dark hair and a red tilak on his forehead wears an orange sleeveless garment and a gold bead necklace. He pours water from a brass vessel over a dark stone shivalinga set on a black yoni-pitha base. A second man in orange stands behind, holding a brass pot. Water splashes across the stone, and a tall brass oil lamp and a garland of yellow and purple flowers appear at the right beside a deity draped in red silk. Petals lie on the wet floor.2010-02-12A photograph of an abhishekam ritual at a temple courtyard. A man with long swept-back dark hair, wearing saffron-orange clothing, a gold ornate necklace of beads, and white ash markings on his forehead and arm, sits on a cushioned seat and pours red liquid from a brass pot over a small deity murti of a goddess holding a trident and sword, set in a gold-decorated stone platform. A second man in a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl with a green-and-gold border stands behind him, bare-chested, with a rudraksha-style mala and a red tilak, watching the pouring. Stone carvings of Ganesha and red iron railings with brass lamps frame the background.2010-07-21
