The plate holds fried vadas or fritters, cooked vegetables, white rice, and crisp papadum fragments. Red and white flower garlands lie at the right edge beside the orange fabric, and a dark floor with bare feet and a white cloth appears at the top left. The scene suggests a ritual food offering being prepared or distributed, though only the hand, food, and garments are visible.2006-10-12Annadhan in 20142014-01-01 +1 copiesOctober 12 20062006-10-12Annadhan in 20122012-01-01 +1 copiesAugust 14 20172017-08-14Annadhan in 20122012-01-01 +1 copiesA long row of banana-leaf plates set on a table for an annadhan meal, each holding rice, curry, fried items and a yellow banana. Paper cups with fruit-juice designs line the left side. On the right, the bodies of people in saffron-orange robes sit close together, their arms and backs partly visible at the edge of the frame. No faces are shown and no individual is identifiable as a person.2013-01-01 +1 copiesA photograph of a seated man in rust-orange sannyasi robes with a gold-bordered shawl and a long tulasi-like beaded mala draped over his shoulders, a red bindi on his forehead, and his hair swept back. He sits on an ornate gold throne with a red cushion and reaches with his right hand toward a green banana leaf spread on a white cloth. The leaf holds a meal of rice, fried papad, yellow sweets, carrot and vegetable preparations, pickles, a small steel tumbler, and a steel bowl with white items. Visible cues: the seated figure wears saffron-orange robes, a beaded mala, a bindi and a golden throne, a presentation consistent with the page's reference to a person, though his face is not used for identification.2013-09-05 +2 copies
