The central murti is dark-faced with a tall conical crown, silver adornments and a garland of multicolored flowers. Beside it, another deity murti wears a gold crown, a silver necklace and a striped garland of yellow, orange and white flowers. Three statues stand behind on a gold cloth: a central figure in white and gold dhoti with a crowned headdress and white garlands, flanked by figures in saffron-red dress with rudraksha-style beads. Pink, white and red flower garlands surround the statues and a silver-and-gold lingam or kalasha-like object is decorated with white jasmine garlands in front. This appears to be an aarti or puja being performed in a temple setting.2014-06-29 +1 copiesMay 07 20172017-05-07April 29 20222022-04-29A photograph inside a decorated hall during a puja at a Shaiva adheenam. A bare-chested man with a white-and-red tilak and a long garland of white and multicoloured flowers stands at left with palms pressed together in prayer. Beside him, a woman in an orange sari bends forward toward a golden, ornate throne-like seat holding seated figures in crowns and garlands, and a golden trident is set upright. A red velvet seat and a tiger-striped cloth lie in front; a brass oil lamp burns at right, and a tray of flowers sits at lower left. Garlanded deity murti and a figure in gold and silver dress appear at the right edge. The figure in the centre does not show clear cues to be identified as a person.2017-06-09A photograph of a temple stage with golden thrones decorated with yellow and white flower garlands and multicoloured canopies. Three deity murtis sit on the thrones: a small figure on the left, a central figure with a golden lion-mount and a red-and-gold canopy, and a figure on the right in blue and pink garments. Stone lion figures flank the centre. In the middle foreground a man in an orange-saffron robe and orange turban sits with palms pressed together in prayer, a red mala around his neck. On the left a young attendant in an orange dhoti holds a lit oil lamp for aarti. Red velvet drapes hang behind, and rose petals are scattered on the stage.2017-12-01March 29 20092009-03-29A woman in an orange sari stands with her back to the camera, extending a brass lamp or aarti vessel toward a shrine. On a golden throne in the background sits a seated figure in red and white clothing with a beaded necklace, flanked by yellow and red ceremonial umbrellas and tall brass trident stands. Before the shrine, a framed image of a goddess is garlanded with yellow marigolds, with brass oil lamps burning on either side and a framed portrait with a flower garland at the lower left. Murals of a temple and mountains form the backdrop.2022-03-13
