A hand from above pours a thin stream of yellow liquid. Yellow silk cloth drapes at left beside a golden arm, and a blurred stone wall forms the background. Adornments on the murti include a red tilak mark on the forehead.2013-10-13October 07 20112011-10-07A photograph of a ritual abhishekam in progress: a thick stream of yellow liquid, with green tinges, pours down from the upper left and splashes over the scene. On the left, a figure in a maroon wrap with a rudraksha-style mala stands near the stream. To the right, a person in a pink and gold embellished garment with sequined shoulder work is partly visible. Behind them, a figure in gold and orange-striped robes and a gold-coloured headpiece stands. The scene suggests a ceremonial bathing ritual with flowing liquid offerings.2017-02-24A golden-brown liquid. A pair of human hands holding a brass kalasha pours from above onto the head and shoulders of the figure, which has an open palm raised in blessing and wears a draped dhoti-style cloth. Behind it stand garlands of yellow and purple flowers and a seated white figure in orange robes, with orange silk drapes and brass vessels on a stone platform.2010-12-14A photograph of an abhishekam being performed on a gilded deity murti standing under an ornate golden arch. A person's hand, wearing gold bangles and a thin bracelet and draped in a red-and-maroon sari, pours a liquid from a silver vessel over the statue. The murti wears a yellow-gold skirt and a draped shawl, and holds a small cup-shaped object in one hand, and the golden liquid streams down its body. Droplets spray in the air. No visible face of a person candidate is present, and the pouring person's face is not visible.2011-11-01
