A square black metal fire pit holds a bright burning fire of wood logs with flames rising high. Around the pit lie short strands of thread or cord, a small brass vessel sits at the right edge, and a multicoloured woven mat lies on the ground. At the upper left a figure in white cloth rests against a yellow cushion, partly out of frame. The scene appears to be a homa or yagna fire during ritual. No people are clearly facing the camera and the fire is the main subject.

Close photo of a red metal fire pit (homa kund) with a tall, bright flame burning wood sticks inside. Behind it, a gold-coloured ornate palanquin or pedestal is decorated with white and red flower garlands and a green cloth. Partial white-clad legs and white papers appear at the left edge. No a person candidate is visible; the scene shows the fire ritual setting only.

Photograph of a homa fire ritual at night. A large orange flame rises from a brick-built fire pit with a white and red patterned cloth on its top edge, surrounded by smoke. A brass dish and a metal bowl of offerings sit beside the pit, and yellow marigold garlands hang at the right edge. Behind the fire, a shirtless figure sits in shadow, partly silhouetted, and a dim temple-like structure fills the background.
