December 31 20182018-12-31Five young male ascetic drummers in saffron-orange dhoti and shawls with red borders stand outdoors on a dirt ground in front of a low white wall with red pillars and green trees. Each wears rudraksha malas and white and red forehead markings. Several play barrel-shaped drums slung from white straps, one drummer strikes a small hand cymbal, and the man at right stands with his hands folded near his mouth. Dry leaves lie on the ground and a stone pile sits behind the wall.2014-08-31A group of young boys in orange-saffron dhotis and matching orange turbans and shawls, many wearing rudraksha-style beaded necklaces, play brass instruments and drums inside a gilded temple hall. In the foreground a boy plays a large bass drum with a stick, another plays a long brass horn, and a boy in front plays a conical wind instrument. Behind them ornate gold pillars, hanging orange and green tassels, a red-carpeted floor and a gold-decorated shrine area frame the scene. In the centre, a bare-chested young man with rudraksha malas and a saffron cloth sits cross-legged on a pink mat, playing a small cymbal. Around him, others play brass horns and drums, and several sit or stand in orange garments with rudraksha necklaces. A dark red-and-black chair sits empty behind them. Metal bowls rest on the mat, and a brown bag and shoes lie to the right. The setting resembles a satsang-style gathering.2017-07-22
