December 30 20182018-12-30December 30 20182018-12-30Night-time photo of a temple welcoming ceremony. A bare-backed priest in an orange dhoti with a sacred thread and garlands stands with his back to the camera, facing a deity murti on the left, which is draped in red, yellow and white flower garlands. A man in white dhoti and shawl stands with hands folded beside him, and a woman in a white sari with gold border holds a small child in white. Behind them a crowd in white clothing watches, some with hands raised in reverence, and red and white flags hang from a palm-leaf canopy lit by a bright light. No clearly identifiable a person candidate is visible in this frame.2018-12-30Evening outdoor procession scene at a temple-style setting. A bare-chested man in saffron-orange dhoti and shawl, wearing a white headband, rudraksha-style beaded mala and garland, holds a lit flame toward the crowd while a man in white dhoti with a saffron sash gestures beside him. A dark stone deity murti stands behind them, adorned with green leaf garlands, red and orange flower garlands, and jeweled necklaces. A woman in orange sari with a red bindi watches at right, and palm fronds frame the scene. Several heads of devotees are visible in the foreground.2017-05-06March 02 20132013-03-02 +1 copiesMarch 02 20132013-03-02 +1 copiesJune 19 20142014-06-19 +3 copiesOutdoor photograph at dusk under large spreading trees. On the left, a dark stone deity murti with an orange headcloth and orange shawl stands inside a silver-framed shrine behind green cloth, with red kumkum and flower petals on the base. A bald priest in orange-red dhoti and shawl, with a sacred thread, holds a lit flame and a handbell at the murti. Behind him stand devotees: several in orange-red robes and women in white saris with hands folded in prayer. A man in a blue checked shirt on the right holds a tray of flowers and offerings. The scene suggests an aarti at a shrine.2013-12-18A bare-chested man in an orange dhoti and orange shawl raises a lit oil lamp with his right hand during an evening ritual, holding a brass bell in his left hand. He wears a rudraksha mala, a long bead necklace and a white headband with a red tilak. Behind him stands a dark deity murti decorated with orange and green garlands and a jewelled collar. On the left, a man in white holds a tall gold staff, and a large orange ornate umbrella stands on the right, with a woman with folded hands at its edge.2017-05-06Night photograph of an outdoor ritual beneath a large banyan tree. In the foreground, a woman in an orange robe raises a lit flame in a metal lamp toward a silver-clad deity murti, with a garland of flowers and a tall multicolour garland arch framing the image. Behind her, several men and women in white with orange shawls hold brass vessels, a silver bowl and a plant offering, watching the puja. Spectators stand at the right near the murti, and a red-draped altar base sits below the statue.2007-01-01A photograph of a ritual at night in front of a black deity murti adorned with green leaf garlands, red and orange flower garlands, and sparkling ornaments. A central man wears an orange-saffron dhoti and shawl, a rudraksha mala with a bead necklace, a gold chain, and a white forehead band with a red bindi. He holds a silver vessel and is surrounded by devotees in white clothes who extend their hands toward a lit flame, possibly a lamp or fire offering. A palm plant and orange garlands frame the scene. Given the page's a person flag, the central figure may be a person, but the face and cues are not conclusive enough to confirm identity.2017-05-06December 18 20132013-12-18
