A man at centre wears a tall black turban-like hairstyle, a maroon sleeveless top with a rudraksha mala and gold chain, a leopard-print sash and maroon dhoti, with a vertical tilak on his forehead. Behind him, a long golden pole-like object rises above the group. On both sides, a line of young women and men in saffron-orange robes stand with palms pressed together in namaste, with white and red tilak marks. Chalk kolam-style designs decorate the ground at right and left, and a small oil lamp sits near the right edge.2017-09-14November 23 20182018-11-23March 25 20182018-03-25November 29 20182018-11-29 +2 copiesA seated man in a rust-red dhoti-style cloth and multiple rudraksha malas, wearing a leopard-print headwrap and a vibhuti/kumkum mark on his forehead, grinds or prepares substances in a brass bowl set on a dark stone block, with a brass pestle in his hand. A second person in the left foreground, partly visible, assists with a brass pestle. An open flame and a stone mortar with a pestle sit nearby, while golden ornate backdrops and brass lamps fill the background.2017-12-10 +1 copiesMarch 25 20182018-03-25September 14 20172017-09-14A seated man in a maroon-red dhoti and wrap with long rudraksha mala strands, a leopard-print headband over long dark hair, and white and red tilak on his forehead, works at a small wooden stand with a brass bowl over a fire. A younger bare-chested assistant in red cloth pours from a long brass ladle into the bowl, while a stone mortar and pestle sits nearby. Golden ornate decorations and a brass lamp stand fill the background, and a fire blazes in the foreground. The scene suggests a ritual preparation of herbal medicine.2017-12-10
