Outdoors at a temple courtyard, a crowd of mostly white-shirted and white-dhoti men press closely around a central figure with a broad smile, a red-and-yellow flower garland draped over his shoulders and a white tripundra on his forehead. He wears an orange-saffron robe. Behind him stand a man with long matted dreadlocks and orange cloth, and a light-haired man in white. Multicoloured garlands hang near the group, and a man in the foreground raises a hand. Behind them, a painted temple pillar with deity statues in white and gold and a tree with pink flowers complete the scene. A child in striped clothing watches at right.2018-01-18January 18 20182018-01-18January 18 20182018-01-18Photo 11710648 +3 copiesMarch 17 20182018-03-17May 15 20182018-05-15Outdoor photograph of a crowd gathered around a man in saffron-orange robes at a village temple in Manalurpettai. He wears a large garland of white flowers, red roses and yellow marigolds, with a dark green leaf garland over his shoulders, and has a white tilak on his forehead. Several sadhus with long dreadlocks and bare or ash-smeared torsos press close, one in white with a shaved, ash-marked head. Men in white shirts and dhotis crowd behind. Behind them stands a green and yellow temple gateway decorated with painted figures and deity sculptures, with fields and flowering shrubs beyond.2018-01-18January 18 20182018-01-18 +1 copiesJanuary 18 20182018-01-18December 08 20112011-12-08March 17 20182018-03-17 +2 copiesJanuary 18 20182018-01-18
