Beside him, a young man with long dreadlocked hair wears orange dhoti and a rudraksha mala. Two more people with long matted hair, bare-chested and wearing orange dhotis and arm bands, stand with their backs to the camera near potted plants, one holding a lamp. A central man in a rust-brown robe, wearing a multicolour floral garland of red, white and yellow flowers, stands with palms pressed together in anjali and a smiling expression, with a long beard and a white tilak on his forehead. Around him, a line of attendants in saffron-orange dhotis and gold-bordered cloth, some bare-chested with rudraksha malas and armbands, carry ritual items; one holds a lit lamp on a metal stand at right. Other men in white shirts and white dhotis, and onlookers, follow along. Potted plants line the path and a tree overhangs the scene.2016-11-12Night procession outdoors among potted plants under bright floodlights. A man in a white shirt and white trousers on the left carries a long gold-tipped staff and a red umbrella. Behind him, a man in orange saffron robes holds a tall yellow pole. In the centre, a man with long hair and a brown-red cloth wears a multicoloured flower garland, a gold pendant and a rudraksha-style mala, pressing his palms together in namaskar. Clay pots with green plants line the courtyard, and a red railing runs along the right side.2016-09-05A man stands in folded-hands namaste with a long garland of white jasmine and orange and red roses around his neck and shoulders, wearing a rust-brown draped cloth and rudraksha malas on his arms and chest. A sandalwood tilak marks his forehead. Behind him on the right, a man in cream dhoti with a gold-bordered shawl stands beside a large drum, and on the left a person in orange cloth holds a tall golden staff while another holds a brass plate. Smoke or incense haze fills the dim night setting with a crowd behind. The scene reads as a ritual gathering. Appearance-based cues: long swept-back hair, rudraksha malas and garland, but no crown, throne or ceremonial gold necklace visible, so identity is uncertain.2017-10-19Outdoor evening ritual with smoke rising at right.
