He holds a bundle of straw or grass to a small flame in a lamp, possibly for a homa or fire offering, with red beaded armlets on both arms and a red tilak on his forehead. Around him are brass and steel vessels, a mortar and pestle, a stone block, a yellow-wrapped kalasha-like pot and a bronze figure of a deity at the left edge.2017-11-05July 03 20162016-07-03 +1 copiesA seated man with long dark hair, a sandalwood or vibhuti mark on his forehead, gold necklaces and rudraksha-style beaded bracelets sprinkles water from a leafy green sprig raised overhead. He wears a rust-orange shawl over a bare upper body and sits on a gold ornate throne with a red cushion. Beside him a person in a purple-and-white turban and white dhoti holds a woven cane-wrapped kalasha pot. A keyboard and green foliage are in the background, with gold drapery behind the throne. The scene resembles a ceremonial darshan or discourse setting.2017-02-26
