March 05 20172017-03-05May 04 20172017-05-04Outdoors on a pale paved path lined with palm trees, bushes and a rubble pile, a procession of about fifteen people walks toward the camera. At the centre, a bearded man in a rust-red dhoti and shawl with a long rudraksha mala walks barefoot, while a man in white kurta and white dhoti with a mala walks beside him. Several younger men wear orange and saffron robes with white tilak markings on their foreheads, and several women in saris, including a woman in a cream sari with hands folded in namaskar, follow. A dark SUV is parked behind them and a few more people in orange stand further back. The figures are walking in a line, several with hands folded in greeting.2016-09-26Photo 11716916 +2 copiesFebruary 24 20162016-02-24A large group of devotees walks along a dusty dirt path lined with brick rubble and green trees, heading toward the camera. Most wear white or pastel clothing, and many have orange-brown rudraksha malas around their necks. In the foreground, a bald man in white with a rudraksha mala and a pendant walks at the right edge, and a woman in a white sari with an orange bag walks at the left. Further back, people in saffron, red, green and yellow saris and kurtas follow in procession, with a man in a yellow-orange kurta at the right. The scene suggests a ritual procession on foot.2016-12-12A group of women walks barefoot along a dirt path past large leafy green trees. The woman at far left wears white clothing and glasses. Several women in the middle and right wear white saris or white kurtas with orange shawls draped over their shoulders. One woman in the centre wears a green and cream patterned sari. In the background an older man in white and a woman in a patterned sari stand near the trees, with a red-earth mound and a wooden utility pole nearby.2008-11-11Photo 11715733Photo 11704479 +1 copiesAugust 12 20162016-08-12November 15 20132013-11-15A group of saffron-robed sannyasis walks barefoot along a dusty unpaved path in front of a concrete block wall, with young men in white dhotis and shirts with lanyards walking alongside. A man on the far left in white shirt and dhoti holds a video camera raised overhead. The foremost robed figures wear orange and saffron garments; one central figure in orange wears a rudraksha mala and has long hair, and the figure to his right in orange has a bearded, long-haired appearance. Behind them are figures in brown and reddish robes. Green trees, a small lamppost, and potted flowers are visible in the background under a pale sky.2009-12-30
