Rows of people sit cross-legged or kneeling before green banana leaves holding rice, yellow dal, fried vadas, pickles and sliced vegetables, with white paper cups set beside them. Many men wear white kurtas with saffron-orange shawls, and several wear orange-trimmed white garments; a man in the foreground has a saffron shawl over white clothes and wears glasses. Children in casual shirts sit at the far right, and additional seated devotees fill the background rows, all eating with their right hands.
