Many women in cream and white saris with gold borders hold brass pots (kalasha) topped with coconut and green leaves, with some pots decorated with flowers. A woman in the foreground wears white with a white vibhuti mark on her forehead and a rudraksha-style mala. Men in white dhotis and shirts stand further back. No single figure is clearly identifiable as a person in this crowd, so the identity is left unsure.2017-03-11A long line of women in white and cream traditional sarees with gold borders stands along a path, each holding a brass kalasha topped with coconut, mango leaves and flowers, a ritual water-pot offering. Several wear sandalwood or kumkum marks on the forehead and beaded necklaces. Strings of lights and green foliage fill the background of what appears to be an outdoor ashram event, and a red carpet runs along the right edge.2017-03-11A wide photograph of a procession along an unpaved dirt road lined by two rows of women holding brass kalasha pots. On the left, women in saffron-orange saris stand facing inward, some with hands joined in namaste; on the right, women in white and cream saris with gold borders do the same. Strings of marigold garlands hang at the left edge. In the distance a decorated ratha or palanquin with a deity murti is visible, flanked by more participants in colourful clothing. Large circular fans stand along the roadside. The scene reads as a ritual welcome procession.2017-12-16Photo 11712182 +1 copiesNovember 16 20032003-11-16Outdoor welcome scene at an event entrance under a decorative canopy of woven palm-leaf thatch, hung with bunches of green bananas, yellow cloth trim and white strands.
