A man in a saffron-orange robe with thick dark rudraksha malas and a gold-rimmed pair of glasses holds a small green cup and touches sacred ash or tilak to the forehead of a bare-chested young man with a moustache, who wears a white dhoti and a blue sacred thread with a gold tassel. Behind them a line of people in white and orange clothing waits, and a child in pink stands at the right edge.2019-01-13 +1 copiesFebruary 18 20172017-02-18Photo 11714778May 03 20172017-05-03A photograph of a crowded ritual gathering inside a tent with red drapes. A young man with long dark hair, bare-chested, wearing a saffron-orange cloth at the waist and a rudraksha mala, reaches out to touch the forehead of another young man, who has white paste markings and a white cloth draped over his shoulder. Nearby, a young man in a white kurta with a pendant necklace watches, and other bare-chested young men with white markings and gold pendant necklaces stand in the crowd. Some have white paste on their chests and foreheads. Several heads in the foreground are blurred. Overall the scene suggests a devotional initiation or blessing process. Four prominent people are shown.2017-04-03May 03 20172017-05-03Photo 11710132May 23 20172017-05-23
