Ritual photo at a stage with a gold-and-red ornate throne. A shirtless priest in white dhoti with orange-and-blue border and a pink head cloth stands at left, pouring water from a white woven pot with a mango-leaf and grass bundle. Seated on the throne at right, a man with long hair, white forehead marking, rudraksha bracelets and mala, gold necklaces and an orange shawl extends his hand toward the pot. A red curtain and trident stand behind; a Yamaha keyboard sits in front. Probable Swamiji (long swept-back hair, rudraksha malas, gold necklaces and orange shawl) seated, receiving the abhishekam offering.2017-07-03April 26 20172017-04-26April 26 20172017-04-26A photograph of a ceremony in a temple-like hall. A man seated on a red cushioned throne with an ornate golden lotus-petal backrest raises one arm holding green leaves and a red-and-yellow thread bracelet. He wears a rust-brown saffron-toned garment, a long chain of gold beads and a large gold pendant, with a red tilak on his forehead and long dark hair. Beside him a bare-chested attendant in a pink head-cloth and white dhoti pours liquid from a metal vessel with a netted white covering. Swamiji (probable): the seated man has long dark hair, ornate gold necklaces and saffron-toned robes, and is in a position of honour on a throne. A keyboard stands at the left edge and a microphone cable runs across the scene.2017-08-07Photo 11712420August 14 20162016-08-14 +1 copiesPhotograph of a ritual abhishekam in progress at an indoor stage. A bare-chested priest with a purple turban, white dhoti with blue border and rudraksha mala stands at left holding a silver-rimmed vessel wrapped in white mesh. Beside him, a seated figure with long dark hair, white tilak, a white and pink flower garland, ornate gold armlets and a rust-brown wrap holds a green leafy branch aloft. Behind them stand banana leaves and a gold throne with red cushion at right. Another attendant in white is partly visible at left edge.2016-12-02June 19 20162016-06-19 +1 copiesA seated man with long dark hair, a white forehead mark, gold-toned hoop earrings, beaded bracelets and a rust-brown wrap reaches out to touch a sprig of green leaves held by a bare-chested attendant in a pink headcloth, gold necklaces, white body markings and a white dhoti with gold border. The attendant leans forward holding a mesh-covered vessel near a golden throne with ornate carved back, against a deep red draped curtain. A black microphone stand with DTX label sits in front. Swamiji (probable): the seated man wears long swept-back hair, a rust-brown wrap and beaded bracelets, and sits on a throne during initiation, so this is a probable identification. Setting suggests a Shiva Deeksha initiation ritual.2017-04-26Photo 11714880 +2 copiesMay 10 20172017-05-10A photograph of a ritual at a stage with a seated, bare-chested man with long swept-back dark hair, wearing a rust-brown wrap with gold border, gold bangles, a gold earring, a headset microphone and a white and pink flower garland. He holds out a banana-leaf-wrapped bundle tied in white mesh, with a green leaf over it. Facing him, a younger assistant in a purple head wrap, white dhoti, rudraksha mala and a yellow shawl stands at a black keyboard device. A gold-coloured deity murti and red cushioned seat appear at the right, with green banana leaves behind. The seated man is probable Swamiji by appearance, with long hair, a rust wrap, gold ornaments and a garland, though the identity is not certain.2016-12-02
