A large crowd fills a street in front of a tall white gopuram temple tower at Arunachaleswarar Temple, with a hill rising behind. In the foreground, a red and gold ceremonial umbrella-like banner with floral embroidery is carried aloft. Behind it, a decorated processional chariot and a deity murti under an ornate arch are surrounded by people in white and orange clothing, several in saffron, and uniformed police officers at the lower right. Many devotees hold up mobile phones to photograph the procession, and a man on a raised platform at upper left also raises a camera.2011-12-20February 06 20172017-02-06 +1 copiesA dense crowd of devotees fills the foreground of a procession near a massive white gopuram of a South Indian temple, its tiers covered in carved sculptures and small niches.
