In the foreground, a man in a pink and gold turban and bare chest, wearing a cream shawl over his shoulder and white dhoti, raises a ceremonial lamp or arati vessel with flame. Beside him, a man in saffron-orange dhoti and a rudraksha mala stands with hands folded in prayer. On the left, a decorated palanquin or ratha is festooned with yellow and red marigold garlands, coconuts and a kalasha. A metal bowl of flower petals sits in front, and a small figure of a deity murti is visible. Another person sits in the background near a golden-canopied throne-like seat. Behind them, a canopy is decorated with orange and white marigold and jasmine garlands.
