Yellow droplets splash in the air. The statue stands on a pedestal in front of an ornate gilded column carved with floral and scroll motifs, beneath a glass and steel canopy. This appears to be an abhishekam ritual. No people are clearly visible apart from the pouring hand and forearm, which belongs to an unseen person.2017-08-07Photo 11710747 +1 copiesJanuary 30 20172017-01-30A golden-bronze statue of a standing child deity murti is being bathed with water poured from a gold-and-green kalasha held by a person's hand. The murti wears ornate patterned lower garments and has an upraised right hand, with water streaming over its head and shoulders. A richly carved gold pillar with floral and scrollwork designs stands to the right, and brass pots sit in the foreground. A person in orange clothing and a white-clad figure are partly visible behind, with a glass roof above. The scene reflects abhishekam ritual bathing of a deity image.2017-07-24A priest in an orange dhoti with white ash markings on his arms pours liquid from a golden vessel over a golden standing murti of a young deity figure on a pedestal. The liquid streams over the murti's head and shoulders, splashing around its base. An ornately carved gold arch frames the left side, and blurred orange-clad figures fill the background.2017-02-26A golden bronze statue of a standing child figure, bare-chested and wearing a short loincloth, is being bathed with a golden-yellow liquid poured from a brass vessel held by a hand reaching in from the right. The liquid splashes over the statue's head, arms and base in an abhishekam-style offering. Behind it stands an ornately carved golden pillar with floral and scroll relief, and a metal railing and glass roof frame the scene. A deity murti is the subject; no living person's face is visible.2017-08-07
