Most men are bare-chested and wear white dhotis, while several women wear white saris with coloured borders. Many participants sit before small brass and black stone shivalingam-style vessels and brass pots, with lamps and leaf offerings arranged on the steps. Some hold brass items and sit in cross-legged puja postures.2016-10-16Outdoor Shiva abhishekam on red-painted stone steps. Many participants sit in rows on the steps, each before a black stone shivalingam set on a round black yoni-peetha base. Brass vessels and bowls surround the lingams. Several people blow long brass horns (shankha-style trumpets) toward the lingams. Most men are bare-chested wearing white dhotis and rudraksha malas; one man in front wears a red-bead mala and holds a horn. Women wear saris and red-bead malas, one in a white sari with red border and a woman in a cream-and-blue top, with vibhuti on her forehead. Behind, red tent fabric and a chain-link fence frame the scene, with a cameraman and a few people in the background.2016-12-17Outdoor ritual scene at red stone steps lined with a metal railing. Rows of devotees sit in white and coloured clothing, many with bare shoulders, some in red, yellow and blue saris. They are performing abhishekam-style worship, pouring water and offerings over black stone shivalingams set on the steps, with small brass pots and bowls of flowers and offerings beside them. A man in white dhoti and gold-bordered cloth stands on the right, holding a camera; a figure in orange garments stands further back along the steps. Red flags on poles rise in the background.2016-12-03
