Behind it, red and yellow marigold and rose garlands fill the frame, and a white staff with orange cloth is visible at left. This is a deity murti in a festival procession setting, not a living person.2009-07-07July 07 20092009-07-07Close side view of a dark stone statue of a sage-like figure wearing a red turban with black and gold patterned border, a red shawl draped over the shoulders, and a heavy gold beaded necklace over a silver-toned ornate chest plate. Garlands of yellow, magenta, purple and white flowers with green leaves frame the figure on both sides, with a red mark on the forehead. The statue is the central subject against a dark background; it is a statue, not a living person.2008-01-01December 28 20152015-12-28
