The figure has long dark matted locks falling over the shoulder, white ash markings on the arms, a leopard-print waist sash, a red wrist thread, and a long rudraksha mala draped across the chest. A silver staff with a curled handle rests beside the legs, and white and orange flower garlands hang in the background near a silver peetha or throne base. Only the lower torso, arms and feet are visible, so the face is not shown.2017-12-28Close-up photograph of a seated person in a rust-orange robe and rudraksha mala grinding a red paste on a dark stone mortar. The person's bare forearm grips an ornately carved silver pestle handle, and a long wooden pestle rests in a reddish mixture in the dark block. Silver vessels with engraved designs sit at left, and a small oil lamp flame glows in the background. Other seated devotees in orange and white garlands are blurred behind. The scene appears to be a preparation ritual.2017-12-28Close photograph of a seated man in a rust-red saffron robe holding an ornate silver staff with a T-shaped top, hanging silver bells and engraved decoration.
