A tall man with long dark hair, a reddish-brown shawl and a rudraksha mala stands in the centre, probable Swamiji (appearance cues: long swept-back hair, rudraksha mala, ornate ritual attire), with a pillar behind him. Around him, several attendants in saffron/orange dhotis and sashes stand and hold ritual items, and robed priests in white dhotis stand with hands folded in prayer near the walls. A decorated golden canopy and a flower-garlanded deity murti are visible at left, with a pink cloth-draped platform and offering tables. In the foreground a dark stone Nandi-like bull statue draped in an orange cloth with white and red flower garlands sits on a red-brick plinth. A woman in a white sari with an orange border stands beside it, and a large seated crowd of women and girls in white, some in orange, sits on the ground in rows facing a raised dais. On the dais stands a deity murti decorated with garlands, and a fire pit with offerings is visible. Several priests in white and orange-clad figures tend the rites in the background. A banner with a painted image hangs from the canopy.2015-08-09December 07 20162016-12-07Photograph of a Shiva temple ritual inside a hall. In the foreground a black stone Nandi bull and a black stone shivalinga sit on a raised white pedestal. At the right, a deity murti in a gold-framed niche is dressed in white and gold with flower garlands. A priest in saffron-orange robes with a pink-red shawl stands at the right edge, facing the shrine. Seated women on the left wear yellow, white, purple and green saris, with one woman in yellow pressing her palms together in prayer.
