Close view of a large green-rimmed drum held by a drummer in a red shirt with gold trim and a yellow headband. Several other drummers in matching red and gold stand around it inside a tent hung with orange and red tassels and lights. On the drum head, green Tamil script reads in a curved line. Behind the drummers, a man in a light blue shirt raises his hand near a decorated umbrella-like canopy, and ornate decorations hang overhead.2016-05-01May 01 20162016-05-01Photo 11702978 +1 copiesPhoto 11702970 +1 copiesDecember 12 20162016-12-12November 14 20152015-11-14 +2 copiesDecember 23 20162016-12-23December 23 20162016-12-23June 20 20182018-06-20A group of young boys in saffron-orange robes sit on a cloth-covered floor playing traditional instruments. In the foreground a boy plays a large barrel drum with a rope-laced frame, wearing a beaded rudraksha-style necklace and white tilak marks on his forehead. Behind him others play a conch shell and long brass horns, while more drums lie on the floor. Red curtains and stacked red chairs form the backdrop of a hall with a tiled floor.2013-12-16June 24 20182018-06-24Night procession of young men in saffron-orange robes playing large drums, held diagonally with wooden sticks, with bordered gold trim and red bands. Several wear rudraksha malas, white headbands and gold armbands, while long brass horns are raised behind them. A man in white clothing stands at the right edge, and figures in darker robes appear blurred in the background on a dirt ground. The scene is a drum-led procession in the dark.2015-04-29
