In the centre, a bare-chested man with long dark hair wears a rudraksha-style gold and beaded mala, a large gold pendant, gold armbands and a maroon shawl, bending forward with hands in the water. Around him, men in white dhotis with gold borders and maroon or orange shawls hold hands and wade together, several wearing gold necklaces. Coloured ceremonial umbrellas in pink, teal and yellow rise above the group, a camera operator stands at right, and a blue sky with light poles is behind them. Several people, at least 15, are visible.2016-05-09Photo 11702362Photograph of a riverside ritual procession wading through shallow water. In the centre a man with long dark hair and a dark maroon-brown robe, wearing heavy rudraksha-style beaded and gold necklaces and gold armbands, stands with cupped hands held in front of him, appearing to offer or receive water. Around him, men in white dhotis with gold borders and gold chains stand in the water, one holding a tall silver staff. Men in saffron-orange robes with gold garlands and beaded necklaces stand to the right. Ornate umbrellas in orange, teal, maroon and yellow with sequined trims rise above the crowd, and a large crowd of devotees fills the background. A photographer's camera is visible above the crowd at the right edge. A printed portrait banner appears in the upper right.
