Photo 117021312016-04-16A smiling man with long dark hair and a tilak on his forehead sits on the lower left, wearing a saffron-orange robe, a brown rudraksha mala and bare feet. Behind him stand large painted statues of a deity couple on a raised platform, one wearing a red-and-gold turban and holding a trident-like staff and a conch, the other in a green-and-gold sari with heavy gold necklaces. A red-and-white striped tent backdrop and a partly visible figure in orange robes frame the scene. Elaborate temple-like decor suggests an outdoor festival setting.2016-04-16A seated man in orange-saffron robes with a long rudraksha mala over his shoulders sits smiling beside large golden statues of a deity pair. The seated figure has a red tilak on his forehead and short dark hair, and his hands rest together in his lap. Behind him, a tall statue of a male deity wears a red and gold turban, an elaborate bead-and-medallion chest ornament, and holds a trident-like ritual object in one raised hand. Beside him stands a female statue in a green and gold silk sari with layered silver necklaces. Rose petals are scattered on the red platform, and brass oil lamps sit at the lower right. Whether the seated man is a particular person cannot be established from appearance alone, so he is described by role only.2016-04-16A photograph of a seated man with dark, swept-back hair and a painted forehead mark, wearing saffron-orange robes and a rudraksha-style mala, smiling as he sits beside large painted statues of deities. Behind him stand a tall statue in a red turban with gold beaded necklaces and a bright blue-green sari-draped figure with ornate silver jewellery, holding a sword-like emblem and a trident-like object. A second statue in a red turban stands at the far left.2016-04-16Photo 117432682016-04-16April 16 20162016-04-16April 16 20162016-04-16April 16 20162016-04-16A smiling person in saffron-orange robes with a rudraksha-style mala and a sacred mark on the forehead sits at the left edge, in front of a large painted deity murti of Shiva with a red turban and a tall, pair of smiling large-eyed divine figures in green and gold saree-style draping. The large statues wear ornate necklaces, bangles and jewellery, one holds a trident and another a ritual instrument. A pink-and-red striped fabric backdrop fills the background.2016-04-16A seated man in saffron-orange robes and a rudraksha-bead necklace sits at lower left, smiling, with a sacred ash or kumkum mark on his forehead and hands folded in his lap. Behind him stand large painted statues of a deity with a red and gold turban, a jewelled bead-and-gold collar, a raised ritual staff, and a consort in a green-and-gold sari with silver-toned necklaces. Small brass oil lamps and scattered flower petals sit at the base of the statues. The man is seated, so his frame is larger than the statues' faces; the statues are deity murti.2016-04-16A seated man in saffron-orange robes and a saffron-orange shawl sits cross-legged on a red-draped stage, smiling broadly, with a rudraksha-style beaded mala draped across his chest and a red tilak on his forehead. Behind him, large painted statues of a deity pair stand on a red platform: the central figure wears a green-and-gold sari-style garment, ornate jewelled necklaces and a crown-like headdress, and holds a trident-like weapon and a ritual implement, while a figure in a red turban and saffron garments stands with a flower garland at the left. A pink-and-red striped backdrop covers the stage, and a small white-and-purple logo appears at the upper left. One partially visible person's head is at the lower centre foreground.2016-04-16Photograph of a seated man in a saffron-orange robe with a rudraksha mala and white forehead markings, sitting at the base of large metallic statues of a deity couple. The male statue wears a red turban, a large ornate jeweled necklace with gold coins, and a golden-bordered dhoti, holding a damaru-like drum in one raised hand; the female statue wears a green and gold sari and layered diamond-style necklaces. The seated man presses his palms together in greeting, smiling. Red cloth hangs behind and rose petals lie on the platform.2016-04-16
