A photograph of a group meditation or yoga session seated on woven mats beneath a large banyan tree with hanging aerial roots and spreading branches. Dozens of participants sit cross-legged in rows, mostly dressed in white with orange shawls draped over their shoulders. Several men wear rudraksha malas or tilak markings on their foreheads, and a few women sit among them. A man near the front centre with grey hair and glasses wears an orange shawl and white clothes. A photographer with a camera on a tripod stands at the back left. The ground is reddish earth and the atmosphere appears calm and focused.2006-10-11July 09 20112011-07-09Photo 11712300February 10 20102010-02-10 +2 copiesJune 04 20092009-06-04Photo 11712302July 12 20062006-07-12February 05 20162016-02-05July 21 20052005-07-21 +1 copiesOutdoor photo beneath a large old banyan tree with dangling aerial roots. At right, a seated person in orange robes with long dark hair performs a ritual at a brick-lined fire pit holding a lit flame, with brass pots and offerings around it. Behind them, a deity murti is decorated with garlands and a gold-embroidered orange cloth, under a colourful fringed umbrella. In the foreground, a man with a long beard in white clothes sits with hands folded, and several seated devotees in white and dark clothing listen nearby. A small figure in orange stands at far left.2005-07-19Outdoors beneath a large banyan tree with many aerial roots, a crowd of children sits cross-legged on the reddish earth with eyes closed, apparently in meditation. Most wear white or light clothing, some with lanyard name badges. A woman in a white top sits among them near the centre, and another person in white stands further back between the roots. Children wear saffron, pink, yellow-bordered and striped outfits, and several have rudraksha-style beaded necklaces. The scene suggests a group meditation session under the tree.2006-05-04Photo 11715877 +2 copies
