A figure in an orange and gold-embroidered garment, with a large yellow and pink flower garland, is lifted or held upright by hands gripping a thick orange rope. A large brass plate is held at left, and a red coral bead garland hangs below. A hand with a rudraksha bracelet presses on the orange-clad figure's back. The figure's head is turned away and not visible. Only partial arms and hands are shown, so the people count is uncertain. Caught between the rope lift and the offering tray, the scene reads as a temple-style garlanding or aarti-related moment.2013-10-05January 11 20162016-01-11 +1 copiesFebruary 13 20162016-02-13January 04 20152015-01-04January 11 20162016-01-11 +1 copiesDecember 14 20162016-12-14 +1 copiesFebruary 13 20162016-02-13Low-angle photograph of a tall copper dhvajastambha flagstaff rising against a pale sky beneath a corrugated roof edge. The staff has ringed bands, a decorative base with a carved panel, and is draped with mango leaves, a bundle of grass and white jasmine garlands. A man in a rust-brown dhoti or wrap, with a sacred cord and a gold necklace, wears a marigold and red flower garland over his shoulders and pulls a rope to raise the pole. Palm trees and foliage stand behind. The scene suggests a ritual flag-raising at an outdoor temple space.2016-10-03 +1 copies
