A dark night scene lit almost entirely by rows of tiered brass oil lamps, their flames glowing against black. Several people in white clothing lean in from both sides, one woman in a white top reaching toward a lamp stand while others hold and tend the lamps at a ritual gathering. Hands and shoulders are partly visible at the edges, with faces mostly in shadow. The lamps appear to be arranged for a night ceremony, possibly an aarti-style offering, and no clearly identifiable figure stands out in the frame.2016-12-06December 07 20072007-12-07August 26 20072007-08-26December 12 20162016-12-12December 12 20162016-12-12 +1 copiesA dim night photograph of devotees in plain white dhotis and shirts seated on the floor, tending multi-tiered brass oil lamp stands (aarti set) with flames burning. Several young men lean in to light or adjust the lamps, which line a low wooden surface in the foreground. The warm glow of the flames is the main light source. No one in the scene is clearly identifiable as a specific guru figure; the visible people are devotees performing an arati.2007-08-26August 12 20162016-08-12November 14 20162016-11-14 +2 copiesMarch 24 20172017-03-24December 12 20162016-12-12A photograph of a tall brass multi-tiered oil lamp (aarti lamp) with many lit wicks and a large flame rising from the top. Several rings of small flames surround the lamp on a striped woven mat, and a brass figure stands beside it. Blurred white-clad figures sit in the background and a hand in white cloth holds the base. The scene suggests an evening aarti ritual. Watermarked text along the right edge is excluded.2007-12-07August 20 20162016-08-20
