Night festival scene at an ashram with strings of coloured lights and a gold decorative backdrop. In the foreground, a man in a saffron-orange shawl with a crescent ornament in his dark matted hair, wearing layered pink-and-white flower garlands, gold necklaces and heavy gold bangles, holds his palm outstretched toward a bare-chested man bent forward with his head down, while a white cord hangs over his back. Behind them, several onlookers in white, yellow and pink clothing watch, and a man in white holds a camera. The figure in saffron with the crescent and dreadlock-style hair has distinctive ceremonial cues, so this is a person in person, performing a blessing during a procession-related event.2016-12-06December 05 20162016-12-05 +1 copiesPhoto of a shaktipada-style blessing at an evening gathering. A long-haired, bare-chested man with a dark beard wears a rose-and-white flower garland, a rudraksha-style necklace and gold armbands, and places his right hand on the crown of a seated devotee's head. The devotee wears glasses, has his hands pressed together in namaste and bows forward; a second helper's hand rests on his head from the right. Behind them, many people in white, saffron and purple clothing stand in a blurred hall with bokeh lights and golden decorations.2016-12-02March 12 20172017-03-12Outdoor evening initiation under a corrugated metal canopy draped with red, blue and yellow fringed cloth. A bare-chested man with long dreadlocked hair, a rust-orange wrap, gold bangles and a rudraksha mala extends his right hand to touch the forehead of a young boy kneeling before him. The boy, bare-chested with a white cord, has white sacred ash marks. Another man with a white-painted torso and rudraksha beads stands at left holding a small white object. Behind them a crowd of people in white clothes watches, and smoke drifts through the scene.2017-05-02April 30 20172017-04-30 +1 copiesA photograph of a ritual blessing in a temple setting. A man with long dark swept-back hair, white forehead marking, rudraksha bracelets and a rust-red shawl over his bare shoulders, and wearing a heavy gold ceremonial necklace, places his right palm on the crown of a shaved-headed, bare-chested devotee who bows his head forward. The devotee wears rudraksha beads and white ash on his forehead. Behind them a priest in white clothes with a rudraksha mala stands, and orange and yellow drapery and a silver-toned decorative item fill the background. Swamiji (probable): the seated blessing figure shows long swept-back hair, rudraksha bracelets, a gold ceremonial necklace and a rust-red shawl.2017-10-01October 26 20162016-10-26September 24 20172017-09-24 +1 copiesA photograph of a ritual scene in a temple-like hall. In the foreground a bearded man with long dreadlocked hair and white and red tilak marks on his forehead, wearing a rust-red shawl and a gold chain necklace, bows his head with eyes lowered. Behind him a priest in a white dhoti with gold border raises his arm and touches the man's head in blessing. Other figures in white and gold-bordered cloth and gold ornaments are partly visible, and an ornate gold pillar stands at the right edge. The man has distinctive long hair, a shawl, and gold adornments, matching the page's reference to Swamiji, so he is described as a probable candidate.2017-06-18A photograph of a ceremonial blessing. A bare-chested man with long dreadlocked black hair, a white forehead mark, rudraksha malas and a red-brown dhoti with gold border stands at right, placing his right hand on the forehead of a kneeling man in white clothes with an orange shawl and rudraksha beads.
