Boys in white dhotis with gold-edged cloth and bare chests play white drums with pink sticks; some wear rudraksha malas and sandalwood or ash markings. Girls and young women in orange saris and orange kurtas with beaded rudraksha malas walk behind, one carrying a small blue bag. Ornate orange, yellow and pink ceremonial umbrellas rise above the crowd, and a cameraman stands on a white vehicle bed with speakers. In the foreground a young bare-chested drummer with long dreadlocked hair, a white cord across his chest, plays a large white-faced drum held at his side with a stick. Behind him other drummers in orange garments play similar drums, and a crowd and a bystander stand along the roadside under trees. Cymbals are visible at the right edge, and a white building, trees and parked vehicles appear in the background.2008-07-17Outdoor evening scene of a drumming group performing in front of a decorated open-air pavilion with hanging flower garlands and lanterns. Six young male drummers stand in a row playing round drums with pink sticks; most wear orange dhoti-style cloths with gold borders, rudraksha malas, and white ash markings on their bare chests and foreheads. One drummer in the centre wears a white dhoti with a gold border, and a man in white dhoti and shawl stands at the left edge. Bare feet, a pile of sandals on the stone floor, and green foliage complete the setting.2016-12-15
