December 19 20162016-12-19A photograph of a temple abhishekam before a richly decorated deity murti seated on an ornate golden throne under a gilded arch. The murti is draped in white cloth with a red-and-gold sash, heavy red and white garlands, and a tall crown. A shaven-headed priest in a white dhoti and gold necklace stands at left holding a lamp. In the foreground a bare-chested man with long matted hair, white body markings and a rudraksha mala raises an offering toward the murti, while a woman in a dark garment with white forehead marks and a bead necklace bends forward with folded hands. Flower garlands fill the lower frame.2016-12-19December 19 20162016-12-19February 27 20142014-02-27A bare-backed priest with dark hair tied up and an orange-saffron cloth draped over his shoulder stands at left, adjusting the golden crown of a gilded deity murti. The murti is adorned with white jasmine garlands, a red flower, and a golden kirītam crown, set within an elaborate gold-and-jewelled throne with red velvet and embroidered panels. Beside it, a second gilded figure wears a tall ornate crown, layered gold necklaces, and a red silk sari-like garment with floral garlands.2021-03-14A photograph of a temple shrine during a ritual. In the centre, a bare-headed-to-the-side figure with long dark hair sits on a gold seat wearing a red-and-orange garment. Beside them, a gold deity murti is seated, wearing a crown and layered necklaces. A shaved-headed priest in a rust-coloured dhoti and shawl stands at left, holding a small silver vessel and offering it toward the central seat, in what appears to be an abhishekam or aarti. The shrine is framed by garlands of yellow marigolds and purple, red and white flowers. Two tall golden oil lamps stand in the foreground, a large brass kalasha sits at the centre base, and two painted portrait figures flank the scene. A photographer and onlookers are visible at the bottom edge.2016-01-03January 03 20162016-01-03Photo 11699161 +1 copiesDecember 02 20172017-12-02 +1 copiesDecember 19 20162016-12-19January 06 20152015-01-06January 04 20152015-01-04
