A photograph of a flower-decorated boat-shaped float in a reflecting tank at a temple site. The float is draped with purple, yellow, orange and white garland festoons and has a tiered garland canopy on top. A seated figure in a red and gold patterned shawl sits under the canopy, with a gold arch behind. Along the red-tiered stone steps behind, many robed people in white, orange and saffron sit in rows beside black ritual lamps and stone sculptures of deities, and red flags line the terrace under a red-brick building. The water reflects the float, garlands and building.2016-12-15December 03 20162016-12-03December 15 20162016-12-15July 26 20102010-07-26December 12 20162016-12-12December 14 20162016-12-14 +1 copiesDecember 04 20162016-12-04Night photograph of a deity murti seated under a floral canopy on a raised platform floating in a water tank. The ornate shrine is covered in marigolds and garlands in yellow, orange, purple and white, topped by a tiered flower dome. The murti wears a gold-and-white crown and a garland, and a kalasha-like flower arch frames it. Around the float, several men in white dhotis and bare upper bodies stand waist-deep in the water, some holding the platform and others with hands folded. Behind them, tiers of terracotta pots line the stepped tank wall, lit by small lamps. A banner at the front bears printed text.2016-01-04December 17 20162016-12-17October 17 20102010-10-17December 16 20162016-12-16 +2 copiesA photo of a flower-decked floating chariot (ratha) being pulled through shallow water in an outdoor temple compound. A central figure in orange robes and a white and red garland sits on a seat beneath a large orange canopy with fringe, with a second orange-robed attendant beside him. A man in orange stands on the chariot's edge holding a flower-decked support. Garlands of orange, purple and pink flowers and marigolds cover the chariot's sides. Men in white dhotis with yellow shawls wade alongside pulling ropes, and a woman in white stands in the foreground. Behind them rises a large black Shiva lingam with a metal staircase and red tiered steps. The seated central figure appears to be a person, identified by the orange robes, long hair and white-red garland with ceremonial bearing, presented as the person being honoured in the procession.2010-07-26
